The National Student Nurses' Association (NSNA) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1952 in the United States to mentor nursing students preparing for initial licensure as a Registered Nurse and promote professional development.

As of 2011, there are about 58,000 members. About 3,000 members attend the annual conference and 1,500 the MidYear conference.

The Foundation of the National Student Nurses' Association has distributed over $2,000,000 in undergraduate nursing scholarships.

The NSNA's official publication is the Imprint.

Goals

The National Student Nurses' Association seeks to:

  • Bring together and mentor students preparing for initial licensure as registered nurses, as well as those enrolled in baccalaureate completion programs.
  • Convey the standards and ethics of the nursing profession.
  • Promote development of the skills that students will need as responsible and accountable members of the nursing profession.
  • Advocate for high quality, evidence-based, affordable and accessible health care.
  • Advocate for and contribute to advances in nursing education.
  • Develop nursing students who are prepared to lead the profession in the future.
